The Haunting of Leigh Maxwell
A tale well-calculated to keep you in suspense!

People often ask where ideas for my books come from, so let me tell you how The Haunting of Leigh Maxwell was born.
One rainy Kansas City Sunday, I was pacing around in our apartment when my husband looked up from the game he was watching on TV and said, "Will you settle down and go read or something." To which I replied, "I've read everything in the house." To which he replied, "Then go write something." I thought, "Hmmm....if I could read any kind of book I'd like to read, what would it be?" So what if I never wrote a novel before! I began, that moment, birthing The Haunting of Leigh Maxwell. A book I knew I'd like to read. I hope you like reading it, too.
It seems to Leigh Maxwell that her life is filled with shadows ... particularly the long shadow-filled drive from her basement apartment to the factory, deep inside a fog-shrouded forest, where she works nights. But there are other kinds of shadows, too ... like the man from the past who makes her face everything she thought she had left behind...the one who offers a safe haven from the stranger who has been stalking and haunting her, day and night, night and day. Safe haven? How safe can Liegh be in an isolated lakeside cabin, in the middle of a raging storm, with a maniac moving closer by the moment? lick

"I just finished reading The Haunting of Leigh Maxwell. I set my alarm so I'd have an extra hour to read this morning before work and WOW! I never saw the ending coming! A very good read, Esther Luttrell, very good!" Daphne Wedig, Ohio Valley Romance Writers of America, past Chapter President (pen name: Dakota James)
"I loved reading this book...I put it aside after just the first couple of chapters because I was home alone and got those 'somebody's watching me' prickles along my spine. I had to wait to finish it when my hubby was home." Marcia Gitchell, Topeka, Kansas
"The author had me from the first chapter. I could not put it down. The scenes were set so skillfully and the ending was unexpected, even thrilling. I can't wait to read another story by this writer." Beverly McBain, Miami, Florida
